Our History

The Black Economy.com is an on-line bi-monthly financial intelligence magazine. Founded in 2006 by motivational speaker and entrepreneur, James "Bird" Guess, the objective of The Black Economy is to Entertain, Educate, and Empower Black Americans to become financially intelligent. The Black Economy provides practical financial education and research on money, business, wealth, entrepreneurship, and the economic impacts of black culture. The financial information discovered on The Black Economy will immediately improve the financial lives of our audience of students, entrepreneurs, investors, and businesspeople. 

The Black Economy is becoming the fastest growing financial educational resource Black Americans choose for information on money, wealth, economics, business politics, entrepreneurship and black culture. The Black Economy also publishes financial education books, produces hip-hop/R&B infused audio books, and business themed movies, and conducts financial intelligence seminars. The Black Economy is comprised of the following sections:
